Griffith Observatory
If you’ve seen the film “La La Land,” then you’re probably already familiar with this place, thanks to an iconic scene. But even if you haven’t, it’s still definitely worth visiting, especially with what you’re able to do there. The observatory allows tourists to view the stars in all their splendor and is both romantic and amazing. And even if you don’t somehow get to enjoy the stargazing shows, you’re still treated to a stunning view of the city, especially at night. It’s a must-visit destination if you plan on heading to Los Angeles.
The Hollywood Sign
Ah, yes, the Hollywood Sign. It’s an iconic string of letters that can showcase in countless films and pictures. And for a good reason – it’s been a symbol for the Los Angeles district since its erection way back in 1923. But it wasn’t always this perfect, as shown in this Hollywood image. Some of the letters were broken at one point, and a contract was issued to repair the sign. Fun fact: did you know that the original sign spelled “HOLLYWOODLAND” instead of the “HOLLYWOOD” we’re familiar with today? During the sign restoration, contractors decided to remove the “LAND” part to prevent confusion with the same name’s development project.
Los Angeles By The Sea
While Los Angeles is primarily known for its Hollywood district, the city’s also got a few other attractions worth visiting. One such attraction (or attractions) are the various beaches that are scattered across the coastline. The beaches are just a walk away from the nearest concrete road. And whether it’s during the middle of the day or beautiful sunset, the bright sands and clear waters of Los Angeles’ beaches are a sight to behold. The iconic Los Angeles palm trees line up by the beach’s entrance. Just be sure to bring a hat or some sunscreen. Because while the beaches are lovely, the sun isn’t – and you just might walk away with a sunburn or two.

Los Angeles is a big city with people from all over the world. Because of this, it isn’t surprising that some buildings and structures reflect this. One such example is the TCL Chinese Theatre. That is located by the world-famous Walk of Fame and features the iconic Chinese architecture style. After the Chinese electronics company TCL, the building is named after they repurchased naming rights in 2013. The interior of the theatre is just as stunning, with elaborately designed ceilings and lights.
Urban Light
Modern public art can take all forms and shapes. Urban Light is a sculpture found at the entrance to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. This particular picture showcases a worm’s eye view of the sculpture, which features rows and columns of electric lamp posts. Walking amongst the lamp posts provides a surreal feeling, as you’d normally see lamp posts blocks away from each other. The night sky adds beauty to the shot, with the bright white of the moon’s light contrasting the lamp posts’ warm yellow glow.
The Venice Sign
The Hollywood Sign is the most popular in Los Angeles, but it isn’t the only one. Another famous sign that’s known by the locals is the Venice Sign. It is located in the stylish neighborhood of the same name. The sign is a modern replica of the original sign, which was first installed in 1905 by the neighborhood’s founder, Abbot Kinney. You can’t take a quick photo all the time here as it’s in the middle of an intersection. However, it’s a sight to behold nonetheless and is a testament to the culture behind Los Angeles.
The Beverly Hills Hotel
The Beverly Hills Hotel is widely considered to be one of the most famous hotels in the world. As you may already have guessed, the hotel is located in Los Angeles’ famous Beverly Hills. Many famous personalities have stayed in this hotel, including people such as Paris Hilton, Yoko Ono, and John Lennon. The prices for one night’s stay at this place are pretty high, so it may be difficult for most to enjoy a night here. It’s still a popular landmark of the city, though, and can be a nice place to drop by in the middle of your tour.
Walt Disney Concert Hall
The Walt Disney Concert Hall looks like something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie. But this establishment exists and has been around since 2003. After the famous animator, Walt Disney, the hall was named who created the Walt Disney Company with his brother Roy. The hall itself isn’t a Walt Disney exclusive, though, and you’ll find many popular concerts held in its prestigious walls every year.
